Event Overview

Come dance with us and the most famous Irish music band in Italy!   During their 40-year career, Birkin Tree has performed over 2000 concerts in Italy and Europe and are the only Italian band to tour regularly in Ireland, where they have played at some of the most important festivals, including Feakle Festival, Masters of Tradition, Ennis Trad Festival, Glencolumbkille Festival, O'Carolan Festival.   The elegance of the arrangements, the skill of the soloists, the variety of singing timbres and the solidity of the overall sound are the central traits of the Birkin Tree sound. The group will present a high-impact concert featuring traditional Irish music in its wide variety and diversity, from old songs and tunes to newly composed material, also by some of its members.   Their perspective on Irish music is an example of how one can be true to the spirit and nature of a traditional repertoire while still managing to communicate and address a global audience, with a contemporary sensibility.   Laura Torterolo – vocals, guitar Tom Stearn - vocals, bouzouki, nylon string guitar Fabio Rinaudo - uilleann pipes, whistles Michel Balatti – irish flute, whistles Luca Rapazzini -  fiddle   This concert is in partnership with the Italian Institute of Culture
