Do you know the difference between a fada and a focal?  Gareth O'Driscoll, an Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF) visiting scholar at St. Michael's College (University of Toronto), provides beginners with some helpful tips on pronunciation and introduces a few simple phrases that will be helpful for your next trip to Ireland or your local Irish pub.

Our distinguished guests discuss how the Irish and Anishinaabe languages each reflect a unique perspective on the natural world, as well as the efforts to revitalize each language.

Dr. Alan Ojiig Corbiere is Canada Research Chair of Indigenous History at York University, former Executive Director at the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, and an Anishinaabe from M'Chigeeng First Nation.

Manchán Magan is an award-winning Irish writer and documentary-maker whose recent books explore the insights the Irish language offers into the landscape, psyche and heritage of Ireland.
